9 May 2008 First field visit with Ken Mabie, my septic system designer. We identified two potential leach field sites.
3 Aug 2008 First meeting with architect.
25 Aug 2008 Field visit with surveyor and septic designer to determine location of leach field. It turns out that there is only one possible location on the property - I was lucky!
2 Sep 2008 Survey of new leach field location.
29 Sep 2008 Road to leach field prepared.
6 Nov 2008 6'x 60' test pit for geological and soil tests.
24 Nov 2008 Well flow test and water quality testing.
5 Jun 2009 Plans submitted to County Planning Dept. for the 1st time.
30 Jul 2009 County comments received.
9 Sep 2009 Meeting with County planners (Joe Hanna, Kent Edler, Bob Lovland), archtitect, soils engineer, and civil engineer.
2 Feb 2010 Plans (finally) submitted to County Planning Dept. for the 2nd time.
12 Mar 2010 County comments received.
20 Apr 2010 Plans re-submitted to County Planning Dept. for the 3rd time.
28 Apr 2010 County comments received.
6 May 2010 Plans re-submitted to County Planning Dept. for the 4th time.
14 May 2010 All departments show "approved." Waiting for final notification.
17 May 2010 Plans are approved by County Planning Dept.!
18 Aug 2010 I pay $15,000 to the County for the privilege to pick up my building permit.
I now have one year until the first inspection is due.
4 Aug 2010 Meeting with Michele, my "general," Mike Crumb (concrete), and Chris Wortman (excavating) to solicit bids.
11 Aug 2010 Meeting with Michele (my "general") and John Lammers (PG&E). We discussed the various options of getting power to the house. Also: Ed Kuerzel (excavator) and Doug Ransone (concrete - declined to bid).
22 Oct 2010 Meeting with Michele, Scott Belle (concrete), and Robert Balcom (excavating) to solicit bids.
